Rosedale

The owners at Rosedale wanted their stone farmhouse to be returned to a beautiful home, and so they under took the significant challenge to completely renovate the house and gardens. Dogwood Design was brought in to rethink the ‘flow’ of the home, and create a design for the garden and outside living spaces. With both owners working from home, it was important that each person had their own office space, and which suited their occupation with additional audio/visual equipment.

The existing brick extension was reimagined with a new kitchen on the ground floor, and the audio/visual studio in a loft above. A new stair layout was designed, with the loft open to the kitchen below. A quieter office was located adjacent to the studio for when someone needed extra focus, or attend a video call.

The garden design features a ‘cottage garden’ style layout with almost exclusively native species. An outdoor dining and living space was located at the back of the house with a central masonry fireplace and timber frame structure. New front steps were designed to compliment the new custom wood front door.
